Mitch obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance from New Mexico State University and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Denver, where he was an accelerated graduate.

Mitch has extensive experience as a trial lawyer in the areas of personal injury, criminal defense, corporate litigation, divorce, child custody, guardianship and adoption. Prior to forming the Tucker, Burns & Yoder Law Firm, Mitch was an Assistant District Attorney in San Juan County, New Mexico. As an Assistant D.A. he prosecuted various misdemeanor and felony crimes including DWI, Child Abuse, Murder, Rape, and White Collar Crimes. Mitch successfully obtained a conviction as co-counsel in the 2005 double homicide trial of a serial killer and current death row inmate. Mitch appears regularly in all San Juan County New Mexico Courts, La Plata County Combined Court, and Federal Court for the District of New Mexico. Mitch has successfully represented individuals harmed by the negligent acts of large corporations, including ConocoPhillips, Chili’s Restaurant, and Comcast Cable.
